In 1984, Freddie Jackson is set free from prison after completing a four-year term for armed robbery. His wife, Jackie, who has been eagerly anticipating his release with the hope that he will turn his life around, is soon let down. Freddie, on the other hand, is eager to return to his criminal ways and has his sights set on becoming the dominant figure in the criminal world of the East End.
