In the small town of Grandview, Illinois, life unfolds much like in any other city or town. As Tim Pearson, a high school senior nearing graduation, dreams of pursuing oceanography studies in Florida, his path crosses with Michelle “Mike” Cody, the owner of the local Demolition Derby venue. Meanwhile, Ernie “Slam” Webster, a participant in the derby, faces marital troubles as his wife is unfaithful and he becomes infatuated with Mike. As Tim finds himself drawn to Mike, a complex love triangle begins to take shape.
